For our Autumn show we are bringing to you fresh from his tour of UK and Europe, the Multi Award winning singer songwriter Gary quinn!
Alongside Gary we have the very talented performer who recently graced the Royal Albert Hall and the West Country Festival Donna Marie!
The show is hosted as usual with Exeter's own Sarah Yeo.
GARY QUINN
7 time British Country Music Association Awards winner including most recently retaining 'Male Vocalist of the Year 2019' and previously 'UK Songwriter of the Year' and consecutive 'Song of the Year' honours, Northern Irishman Gary Quinn has become one of British country music?s more established performers. Quinn cites U.S. country artists such as Garth Brooks and Brad Paisley as influences, has opened for the visiting CMA Songwriters Series, toured with Phil Vassar and William Michael Morgan and shared the stage with acts such as Kristian Bush, Sarah Darling and hall of fame songwriter Bob DiPiero. An accomplished performer, Quinn is just as comfortable with a pen in his hand and has collaborated with Grand Ole Opry member and Grammy winner Steve Wariner as well as Brett James, Trent Tomlinson, Jenn Bostic and J.P Williams.
2021 was a strong year for Quinn with his singles ?Nobody Somebody? and 'Catch Me' placing at #1 and #2 on the UK Country Chart respectively as well as being championed by Ty Bentli (Ty Bentli Show, Apple Music) and being selected as Chris Country Radio's 'Single of the Week' in the months of January and June. 'Catch Me' is currently featured on Apple Music's 'Today's Country', 'New in Country' and 'Country Wide' while 'Nobody Somebody' placed on Spotify's 'Wild Country', 'Next from Nashville', 'New Music Nashville', 'Nashville Stripped and 'Fresh Finds Country' playlists.
Quinn and his band have performed at one of Europe?s most prestigious country festivals ?Country2Country? in London on numerous occasions, C2C Berlin, The Long Road Festival and Manchester?s ?Buckle & Boots? as well as festivals the length and breadth of the UK and Europe. Gary toured the Gold Coast of Australia in 2019 culminating in a performance on the Toyota Stage at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Additional to his live appearances Quinn can be seen regularly on TV with his videos receiving airtime on regional and international TV programmes. Gary recently returned from Nashville having been invited to appear on Phil Vassar?s ?Songs From The Cellar? TV show recorded live from Phil?s home in Tennessee.
A regular performer at the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival, he has performed alongside Nashville recording artists Carlene Carter, John Brannen and Nanci Griffith as well as opening for a CMA Songwriter Series show that included Clint Black and Bill Anderson. Quinn is also no stranger to performing in Nashville having played the CMA Music Fest, the CMA Global Artist Party and iconic venues The Bluebird Cafe and The Stage on Broadway.
DONNA MARIE
Donna Marie, a singer-songwriter hailing from the North-West of England in a town called Warrington.Her songwriting style mixes musical genres that have inspired her as a musician. Deeply routed in ?story telling? and melodies that stay with you.
As a Musician and Vocalist , Donna is also part of 'Dominic Halpin & The Hurricanes' for the hit theatre show 'A COUNTRY NIGHT IN NASHVILLE' playing across the UK in some of the most prestigious venues like Edinburgh Playhouse, Belfast Waterfront theatre and the Royal Albert Hall.
CLIMBING MOUNTAIN RECORDS is the home of Donna's solo music.
Featuring the debut release ?BROKEN LOVE? EP (2015) hit the UK Country iTunes chart reaching number 5. Several singles later and her followers and streams are steadily growing.
?ON THE ROAD? was picked up by popular Spotify curator playlist ?VERY NEARLY NASHVILLE? already achieving over 120,000 plays. BBC introducing has also championed 'ON THE ROAD' as one of the shows producers picks. She's also been nominated for a number of awards including best musician and best country artist.
During the first national Lockdown, Donna released several singles including a rip, roaring duet with Patrick Jordan and her own fresh take on ?Del Amitri?s NOTHING EVER HAPPENS and is currently working on a new body of work including being part of 'The Songs & Stories Collective' with Sarah Yeo & Tennessee Twin.
Her backing vocals have featured on many other artists music including British country artists Stuart Landon O'Hanlon (Angels with dirty faces) Phillipa Cookman, Thornehill, Tommy Taylor, Sarah Yeo and many more collaborations.
SARAH YEO
Native Devonian girl Sarah Yeo has been making a impression on the Live music scene for at least two decades performing her way around many venues both large and small in the UK. In more recent years she has won fans performing across the pond in New York City and California. Likened to voices such as Karen Carpenter, the Corrs, Mary Chain Carpenter to name a few. Her versatility has made for a very interesting gigging past playing in various bands and as a soloist she has also gained endorsements from household names,
Shane Richie "what a voice! " and Nina Myscow "She should be a star". Sarah who has shared line ups with the Brand New Heavies, Incognito, Craig Charles and has played stages such as Mello, Midwinter, Glas - denbury, Dart, Exeter Respect festivals feels her varying experience on the road has greatly enriched her musical senses, and is what's enabling her song writing to cross over in to many different genres. Several of Sarah tracks have enjoyed radio play on BBC and Independant Radio Stations and has the frequent support of ARC FM, CountryRadio.uk, East Devon Radio, Riviera FM and an army of online stations and shows including' Live in the Living Room', Visual Radio Arts, Russell Hills Country, UK Country DC Brown. Highlights include playing at Exeter City Football ground, Switching on Exeter City and Torquay Festive lights, Supporting Nashville's Cheley Tackett, Texas's Bob Cheavers, Gaz Brookfield, The Drifters... Over the course of her career so far perhaps one of the biggest accolades was to be named by one time audience member
