terrace cred. presents:
the much anticipated return of The Coal Porters.
5 years ago, Sid Griffin's 'alt-bluegrass' combo called it a day, after 17 years, 6 albums and countless gigs (including The Greys, Brighton, which became an annual 'must do' date).
Now it's time to reconvene. They're all busy following music paths, are playing a few reunion dates put together whist all members can be in the same place at the same time. And, at the band's request, we've nabbed 'em for a night in Brighton.
Sid Griffin, musician, performer, writer, music historian... has just received the AMAUK International Trailblazer Award with his band The Long Ryders.
Kerenza Peacock's day job is string arranger / player with Adele (though you may hear her play with the LSO / Rod Stewart / Paul Weller / Kanye West / The Spice Girls / Emilie Sande...
The 5 piece lineup we've previously loved includes Neil Bob Herd, Paul Fitzgerald and Andrew Stafford. Now augmented by previous member, second fiddle player ........... to provide a twin fiddle approach to the show.
This promises to be an unmissable night.
Get your tkts quick.
'Not your average fish & chips bluegrass, the Coal Porters have expanded their music with broad strokes and fearless execution.' Chris Hillman (Byrds/Flying Burrito Bros)
'Sid Griffin was playing Americana long before it was called that with his Long Ryders and his pioneering spirit lives on in his work with the Coal Porters.' Billy Bragg
