Born and bred in Virginia, Amelia White cut her musical teeth as a young adult in Boston. Amelia graduated from staging plays in her back yard to writing songs as soon as she acquired an acoustic guitar. She begged her brother to teach her guitar, then played it so much that he sold it to her - it?s still her main guitar to this day. With influences such as The Beatles and Stones, her songs have a sweet soft side reminiscent of early James Taylor. The lyrics are more poetic than narrative, and her sinewy emotional voice and striking melodies will stick with you.
Amelia White's 'Rhythm of the Rain' was named as one of the top-ten Country/Americana songs of 2019 in ROLLING STONE magazine.
'Rhythm of the Rain' was nominated for song of the year by Independent Music Awards.
A limited-edition CD of her new album ?Love I Swore?, produced by Nashville icon Kim Richey, will be exclusively available on this tour.
"If there were an East Nashville Music Hall of Fame, Amelia White would already be in it. She's been a highly-respected leading light in America's most musical zip code for some time now, and has developed a reputation in the rest of the US and Europe as a first-rate songwriter. She's a poet who's been compared to more famous songwriters for years ? now it would be more appropriate to use her as a benchmark." (Craig Havighurst, Music City Roots, Nashville).
"As a songwriter, I feel obliged to tell the stories that are coming through in the air to me in my world whether it's personal or political or both. The antenna is always on." (Amelia White).
Support comes from Robbie Cavanagh whose latest record 'To Leave/To Be Left' has received high praise. It's Robbie's live performance that has really turned heads and attracted much deserved attention. Stepping out on stage with his long hair, a guitar over his shoulder and a well-earned confidence in his chest, Robbie can hardly open his mouth without also opening his heart.
