Making a very welcome return to Faringdon, Oxon -

Luke is a Singer-Songwriter from Canterbury, Kent, who way back in 2013 was nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for both the Horizon Award for Best Emerging Talent and The Young Folk Category.

Over the past few years he has steadily developed a reputation for himself in the Folk, Roots, Americana & Acoustic circuits, through his solo, duo or trio shows, many festival appearances or when opening for such luminaries as Fairport Convention, Show of Hands, Steve Knightley, Martyn Joseph, Seth Lakeman, Karine Polwart, Oysterband, Paul Brady, Glen Tilbrook, Sarah Jarosz and John Paul White, formerly of the legendary Civil Wars.

Luke has also toured alongside Grammy Award winning songwriter Amy Wadge numerous times, the last being in 2019 & also with Folk Award winning duo Greg Russel and Ciaran Algar.

Between his debut album 'More Than Boys' produced by the acclaimed Welsh Singer-Songwriter Martyn Joseph, which was released in 2012 through to his latest release in 2021, 5 records including a live album 'Solo, Duo, Trio' were released and each album received high praise from folks like Maverick, Acoustic Magazine, Mike Harding & R2 Magazine, along with 5* reviews!

After going back to both Europe and the USA in early 2020 for another two successful tours, like many, many others, Luke's career was 'put on hold' by the end of March with the advent of Covid 19. Luke kept himself busy and engaged with the musical community with a series of themed live stream shows and after a bit of a creative writing surge, released a 7 track EP in early 2021 of songs written during lockdown called 'Of The Time'. Initially a digital release, it is now available in CD format as well and garnered great reviews prompting Fatea magazine to say "Luke Jackson has gifted us with one of the most important and essential releases I've heard in quite some time" whilst At The Barrier journal noted "At a time when the gift of music is something to cherish, 'Of The Time' is an inspired offering".

Now the world is slowly opening back up again, Luke has a busy schedule for the rest of 2021and 2022 starts with a prestigious support slot opening for Fairport Convention on their Winter Tour in February, as well as more solo UK, European and USA dates in the pipeline from spring 2022 onwards.

What They Say:

"Blessed with one of those soulful, heaven-sent voices that soars with emotion or plunges into brooding intensity." ? The Musician Magazine

"He is one of the most distinctive voices, both literally and figuratively, on the contemporary folk scene." ? Folk Radio UK

"His songs are crafted with a finesse to grab the attention of almost any potential audience, his vocals varnished with a pop style crossed with a blues, folk soul at its core." ? Irish Music Magazine

"I was hugely impressed by every part of Luke's music ? he's a great singer, writer and performer, a striking new voice." ? Frank Turner

"Every so often a new voice emerges, one so stunning that it knocks you sideways. Jackson has been compared to a young Richard Thompson and for once these are not empty words." ? Acoustic Magazine

"Two words, bloody brilliant." ? Maverick 5 star review

"He has a stage presence that many artists would kill for and a voice and guitar style that make you think that he's a sixty year veteran who happens to have discovered the fountain of eternal youth." ? Fatea Magazine
