In October 1338 Southampton was attacked in a vicious raid, which still leaves its mark on the city today. But when exactly did it happen? What do the sources and the archaeology tell us? Is it true that a cannon was used in the raid?!
Join historian and guide Andy Skinner in exploring the setting, scene and history of the infamous French Raid of 1338 in this special walking tour around the anniversary of the raid itself. As always, this tour will be engaging, fun and will visit some of the medieval vaults hidden under the town.
Meet in St Michael?s Square 10 minutes before the tour begins.
Regrettably the tour isn't suitable for those with mobility issues.
In the unlikely event of our having to cancel a session, we will offer a full refund. Unfortunately tickets are otherwise non-refundable. Please contact us if you wish to transfer your ticket to a friend if you cannot attend for any reason.
