The João Menezes Band play their first show at the new Jamboree in King's Cross, exploring the sounds of Brazilian music and jazz for a Sunday night at Jamboree, focusing on Bossa Nova, Samba, Partido Alto, Baião and Choro. They will be playing music from João Gilberto, Noel Rosa, Novos Baianos, João Bosco, Guinga, Jacob Do Bandolim amongst many others.
The band will play two sets along the course of the night.
João Menezes is a student at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Alongside him in the quintet are colleagues from his course, as well as graduates from other Conservatoires in the UK and Amsterdam.
Jamboree is a grass-roots world music venue and bar hosting Folk, Blues, Americana, Celtic, Mediterranean, Eastern, European, GypsyPunk and Old Time Jazz!
Jamboree is back with a POP-UP adventure in a different venue in Limehouse from December 1st!
