Description

RITUALS OF THE SOUL is created with a movement research method called DEEP LISTENING. The practice is discovered through the rituals of the creative process. This research explores the invisible layers of the human being, through: deep listening in movement, conscious presence and invisible communication.

?Rituals of the Soul? is an emotional meeting that often brings hugs or tears to the participants. Audience members are drawn back to witness and experience the performance again and again.

Petya Stoycova is the founder and choreographer of Dune Dance Company in Burgas, Bulgaria which is now over 30 years old. The company has produced more than 20 performances and initiated numerous projects to advance Bulgarian contemporary dance as the "Dance BG" Association. Petya's extensive teaching experience spans international dance projects in Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine, Senegal, and Kenya. She holds a degree in Choreography from New Bulgarian University in Sofia and has participated in several prestigious international dance programs worldwide. Notable among them are Dance Web, UNESCO artistic residency in Senegal, and the Balkan Dance Platform.
Her contributions to choreography and cultural development have been recognized with several awards, including the "Impuls" award from the Bulgarian dance professional society for "Rituals of Soul" (2022) and the "Burg of the Year" award for her special contribution to cultural development in Burgas.
