Anne's novels The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Agnes Grey were inspired by her time in Scarborough.
Bridlington
Charlotte's first holiday was in Bridlington in 1839.
She traveled by train for the first time and saw the sea for the first time.
Filey
Charlotte retreated to Filey after returning from Scarborough alone and broken-hearted.
She was alone with the sea, seagulls, and crashing waves.
