Having split at the end of 1982, Wasted Youth returned in February 2022, initially for a couple of low-key gigs, but when tickets sold-out within minutes of going on sale, it became clear that there was still a demand for Wasted Youth and their brand of controlled chaos, pulsating rhythms and beautiful stories from the darker side of life.
Original members Ken Scott and Rocco Barker (also ex-Flesh for Lulu), were joined by younger musicians Josef Rosam (Gtr), Sabrina Amade (Bass) and Alan Temple (Drums). They went on to play the Wide Awake and Rebellion festivals, as well as supporting the Psychedelic Furs (again!) on their UK tour and supporting PWEI in a short series of sell-out shows. Wasted Youth have also played lots of sold-out headline gigs all over the country.
Their long awaited album ?Neo Noir? was recorded over several months in 2024/2025 at WSTLVN Recording Studio in Notting Hill, London. Produced by Ken Scott and engineered by Kevin Harris, it features nine original compositions, and captures the band in exciting and vibrant form.
Wasted Youth are not a nostalgia act or a band trading on the past; they are eager to take ?Neo Noir? to a wider audience and this contemporary sounding album will delight both new and old fans alike.
Wasted Youth head out on a UK tour to promote ?Neo Noir? in April, 2025.
Special guests are Jopy, a young and exciting three-piece, who supported Wasted Youth at The Piper last year and so impressed that they've been asked to play with us again. If you haven't seen them before, you're in for a real treat! Think Bolan, Glam, Cramps and Grunge...but with a contemporary and unique post-punk flavoured spin on things.
