GRICE & The Polarchoral Band

Event Type

Genre : Music - General

Description

Art-rock artist, singer, songwriter, guitarist GRICE presents his unique brand of sonic alchemy through a deeply personal set of powerful and intricate songs. GRICE and the Polarchoral Band set co-ordinates for a journey through dark and sometimes challenging waters, gliding between neo-psychedelic rock, nuJazz, sophisticated pop and progressive rock, creating a cocktail of emotive songs mixed with hints of electronica, avant rock and electro-acoustic glitch.

GRICE is joined on stage by the Polarchoral Band:
Robert Brian on drums (Siouxsie Sioux, Simple Minds, Goldfrapp),
Al Swainger on bass
Duncan Chave on programming
The performance is set to a kaleidoscope of visual projections created by GRICE

GRICE?s shimmering musical alchemy merged with his signature sound of art-rock, prog and avant-pop synthesis have led to successful collaborations and releases involving high profile musicians including Richard Barbieri (Japan, Rain Tree Crow, Porcupine Tree), Steve Jansen (Japan, Exit North), Hossam Ramzy (Peter Gabriel), Raphael Ravenscroft (Pink Floyd, Vangelis/Blade Runner) and B J Cole (Elton John, Marc Bolan, Scott Walker).

GRICE has been championed by Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music and his album Polarchoral (2022) was voted Best Album of the Year in the Indie Prog Awards (NY).
His 6th studio album Mordant Lake was released in 2024 on hungersleep records. He is currently working on his 7th studio album Filter which is due to be released in 2025/26 and features Richard Barbieri and David Torn.
