The amazing Mary Lee Family Band is a Brazilian/Irish/US bluegrass /Americana band based in Berlin. A sublime live experience, their music is served raw with washboard and double-bass drenched in a spicy sauce of fiddle and acoustic guitar, topped off with the headstrong and free-spirited Mary Lee's razor-sharp voice.
Radiant centrepiece of the group Mary draws inspiration for her songs from the legacies of Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family, artists who provided the big bang for country music in the 1920s. And the ?Family Band? is not just a name - they are wife, husband, son, Irish sister (not by blood but definitely by heart) and an adopted pirate together on stage!
Jamboree is a grass-roots world music venue and bar hosting Folk, Blues, Americana, Celtic, Mediterranean, Eastern, European, GypsyPunk and Old Time Jazz!
Jamboree is back with a POP-UP adventure in a different venue in Limehouse from December 1st!
