Jackson Mathod is a multi-instrumentalist and singer. Drawing on influences from the likes of Miles Davis, Roy Hargrove and Christian Scott to name a few.
In times where everything can feel too heavy, Jackson's music delivers a very simple and universal message : have fun, move, and enjoy the amazing musicianship on display.
Jackson is currently into his second album with the band now as a quartet. ?I feel this new line-up gives me the opportunity to be more expressive with my sound and experimental with the use of pedals and effects. I also love the use of guitar in my music and I?m excited by this next path for me as an artist?
Following a string of very successful singles in 2020, Jackson released his debut album ?Travels in a Confined Space? in April of 2021, where he received support from BBC 6music (Huey Morgan), BBC introducing (Jess Iszatt and Robert Elms), Worldwide FM (Gilles Peterson) and was playlisted on Jazz FM.

The Courtyard Theatre stands as a vital cultural artery within Hoxton's dynamic artistic landscape, a Grade II-listed former public library reimagined as a thriving hub for performance. It serves as a crucial platform for both established and emerging talent, contributing significantly to London's theatrical and musical fabric. This venue, steeped in local history, continues its legacy as a place of public engagement and creative discovery.
Within its walls, a distinct atmosphere prevails. The warmth of the lighting often casts a soft glow across the exposed brickwork, while the hushed anticipation before a performance fills the main house. There's a subtle, almost imperceptible scent of aged paper and polished wood, a gentle echo of its past life as a repository of knowledge, now transformed into a space for shared experience.
Practicality meets charm with the venue's offerings. The Iambic wine bar provides a welcoming space for pre-show drinks and post-performance discussions. The Courtyard is committed to accessibility, offering step-free access and an accessible toilet, alongside staff assistance for those requiring support to navigate its various spaces.
Throughout the year, the theatre hosts a diverse programme spanning compelling dramatic works, stand-up comedy, live music, independent film screenings, and poetry readings. It actively champions new playwrights, directors, and companies, providing essential opportunities for development and presentation across its main house and studio spaces.
