PYJ?N seamlessly blends jazz, disco, punk, hip-hop, and other contemporary
sounds into a singular experience. Since the release of their debut self-titled album in
2019, PYJ?N has caught the attention of audiences and critics alike, earning acclaim from
figures such as Gilles Peterson, Huey Morgan, Jazz FM, and Clash Magazine.
They enjoyed collaborating on their 'Sage Secrets' EP with Blue Lab Beats and Odette
Peters, which amassed over 1 million streams on Spotify within just 6 months. This
achievement stands as a testament to the band's rising prominence in the UK "Jazz and
beyond" scene.
Recorded over five days at Peter Gabriel?s legendary Real World Studios, their second
full album, 'Feast' was released in 2021, featuring thirteen tracks and collaborations
with a diverse array of artists including singer Renato Paris and Glasgow Jazz legend
Corto Alto.
The band are currently writing and recording in hopes to release an album in Autumn 2025.

The Courtyard Theatre stands as a vital cultural artery within Hoxton's dynamic artistic landscape, a Grade II-listed former public library reimagined as a thriving hub for performance. It serves as a crucial platform for both established and emerging talent, contributing significantly to London's theatrical and musical fabric. This venue, steeped in local history, continues its legacy as a place of public engagement and creative discovery.
Within its walls, a distinct atmosphere prevails. The warmth of the lighting often casts a soft glow across the exposed brickwork, while the hushed anticipation before a performance fills the main house. There's a subtle, almost imperceptible scent of aged paper and polished wood, a gentle echo of its past life as a repository of knowledge, now transformed into a space for shared experience.
Practicality meets charm with the venue's offerings. The Iambic wine bar provides a welcoming space for pre-show drinks and post-performance discussions. The Courtyard is committed to accessibility, offering step-free access and an accessible toilet, alongside staff assistance for those requiring support to navigate its various spaces.
Throughout the year, the theatre hosts a diverse programme spanning compelling dramatic works, stand-up comedy, live music, independent film screenings, and poetry readings. It actively champions new playwrights, directors, and companies, providing essential opportunities for development and presentation across its main house and studio spaces.
