Pengwern Events is very pleased to welcome (finally) Priyanka Joshi, winner of the 2021 Poetry Slam, to this year's event. Priyanka Joshi is a London-born Wolverhampton-based performance poet. Having ventured onto the spoken word stage just five years ago, she has gone on to become a multi slam champion, poetry headliner and placed 3rd in the UK Slam championships in March 2022. She has had several commissioned works in recent years including poems for Offsite9 British Art Show, the Boundary Way Project and NHS ?Covid Champions?. Her poetry journey began with using the page as a therapeutic tool, allowing her to self-express and finally feel heard. Her emotive body of work explores love, identity, mental health and motherhood through the lens of a British Asian female.
Priyanka was one of seven poets featured in New Voices, published by Offa's Press

Priyanka will be joined by local poet/performer/carpenter/volunteer, Dennis Onions. Dennis brought his work to last year's Poetry Bruch and he went down a storm. He tells me he's been performing more since then. I am very much looking forward to listening to both of these poets again!
