NNJA RIOT
https://nnjariot.weebly.com/
Electronic song compositions by artist and composer Lisa McKendrick. Her music includes elements of industrial, the ethereal, ambient and has a definitive noise presence where she incorporates noise instruments she's created or modified. Her music is a journey into the potential of electronic beats, musical instruments, DIY noise synths, modular synthesis, auditory fragments, and vocals. On stage she leans towards art as a ritual, employing custom-made headdresses and has visuals exploring ritual and land art. Her approach to making live music is to allow the music to take on a new life for each performance, while maintaining a framework to create from.
V?Z
https://linktr.ee/vizvizviz
is the avant-garde solo project of Hungarian Transylvanian multidisciplinary artist Re?ka Csisze?r, in which she delves into the depths of Eastern European melancholy, blending post-industrial textures, ghostly glossolalia, the darker shades of Hungarian folk, and audiovisual noir. Csisze?r?s work is profoundly cinematic ? Lynchian disorientation in time and space emerges from the very first sonic clues. The compositions of Miha?ly Vig for Be?la Tarr?s films, Eastern European folk horror, and noir aesthetics are key references to unlocking the sealed universe of Csisze?r.
On her latest record 'Danse des Larmes', that was recently released via Athens based cult label Heat Crimes and selected as Boomkat's Album of the week; dense electroacoustic textures melt into gothic vocal lines, forming a non-existent Giallo soundtrack. VI?Z?s live act has been described as eerie and captivating?oscillating between avant-garde sci-fi opera and ritualistic incantations, where Csisze?r?s haunting vocal performance immediately calls to mind shadow-pop icons like Diamanda Gala?s, Julie Cruise, and Lisa Gerrard. The experience is visceral ? one you can breathe, touch, and lose yourself in completely.

New River Studios stands as a vital cultural artery within North London's Harringay Warehouse District, operating as a not-for-profit arts centre and community interest company. It provides an accessible platform for local artists and creative businesses, offering shared facilities and a space for collaboration that extends beyond mere commerce. This converted furniture warehouse has cultivated a reputation as a significant hub for artistic expression and community engagement.
Inside, the venue retains an industrial charm, with exposed elements softened by the warmth of activity. The air often carries the faint aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingling with the lingering scent of performance, while the tactile experience of worn wooden surfaces and robust, repurposed furniture speaks to its history and practical ethos. It cultivates an atmosphere that is both grounded and creatively charged, a genuine reflection of its artistic purpose.
Practically, the venue features a well-stocked bar and café, serving a selection of craft beers, coffees, and casual fare like pizzas and vegan brownies. It also houses recording and rehearsal studios, supporting musicians and creatives. The space is designed with accessibility in mind, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance.
Throughout the year, New River Studios hosts a diverse calendar of events, ranging from live music performances and art exhibitions to workshops, educational programmes, and pop-up experiences.
