In 1984 Milos Forman brought this movie version of Peter Schaffer?s hugely successful stage play to the big screen. Against the backdrop of the 18th century Imperial Austrian court, it imagines a rivalry between the establishment composer Antonio Salieri and maverick prodigy Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. With a soundtrack conducted by Neville Marriner the film brilliantly explores themes of musical creativity and talent, and featuring outstanding performances from the cast this newly remastered classic is a fitting culmination to our weekend celebration of 'Films at 50'.
Ticket price includes a free glass of bubbly and nibbles. As the running time is a bit longer than average we will be starting the film at 7pm.
