SLOW JUMPS
SONG CUTS

Azut Trio: French Chanson +
Imaginary String Trio: responsive textural improvisations
An evening of varied musical joys!

The Azut Trio aims to revisit French Chanson, from Trouvere song to Jeanne Moreau and Jacques Brel, getting sometimes distracted in the process... Azut was formed in 2008 in Oxford (for this concert, playing as a trio; in its more usual form it includes guitarist David Stent).

The Imaginary String Trio approaches its 20th birthday. Its way of proceeding can be described as culinary: the specific ingredients of the bowed instruments, the sonorities they afford are combined with affection in the moment of the encounter, the room and the sense of occasion are as much part of the shared event as are the skills and experience of the musicians. Imaginary String Trio?s music is on Philipp Wachsmann?s label Bead Records.

Bruno Guastalla voice, cello, bandoneon
Dominic Lash double bass,
Paul Medley clarinets, alto sax
Philipp Wachsmann violin
