Christopher de Bellaigue is the author of eight books, including The Islamic Enlightenment, which was shortlisted for the Baillie-Gifford Prize, and the first volume of his Ottoman trilogy, the highly acclaimed The Lion House: The Rise of Suleyman the Magnificent.
