With songs described as ?music for the soul? (Maverick Magazine), Emily Maguire is an independent British singer-songwriter, composer, poet, multi-instrumentalist and award-winning mental health advocate. She has released seven albums, had three singles playlisted on Radio 2 and toured extensively
with the likes of Don McLean, Dr Hook and Eric Bibb, playing major concert halls and theatres across the UK.
Known for her thought-provoking lyrics, expressive voice and highly emotive songs ?bathed in raw emotional power? (Guitarist Magazine), Emily has a remarkable, inspiring story to tell and has been featured in interviews on Radio 2?s Good Morning Sunday and Radio 4?s Woman?s Hour, Front Row and Midweek.
She has sung her songs for many mental health hospitals and groups, work which in 2019 won her the Mogens Schou Award for Public Service and Advocacy.
Emily is accompanied by violinist and viola player Sue Lord who has played with Peter Gabriel and Newton Faulkner among many others
Green Note was founded by two friends and passionate music lovers who wanted to create their ideal place to hang out in London...
Our dream was to create a place where we could share music that we loved – somewhere with a laid back, intimate and friendly atmosphere. Becoming friends in our school days, the seed for our idea was planted many years ago. After lots of hard work, many ups and downs, and learning more than we ever could have imagined along the way, our dream became a reality when Green Note opened its doors in the Summer of 2005. Now in our fourteenth year, we have established a reputation as one of London’s best spots for roots, world and acoustic music, and we’re constantly astonished by the wealth of incredible musicians who grace our stage. We’re really proud of what we have created, and happy to be able to share it with you.
