Description

Join us in The Fae Folkrooms for an evening of music, poetry and connection, with performances from local artists and invited special guests. The Fae Folkrooms celebrates the underground, the otherworldly, the alternative, the queer and the extraordinary.

Our special guest this month will be Sophie Crawford, a singer, accordionist and writer from London. Her songs, accompanied on accordion, are drawn from traditional music archives and create a performance that explores the queer experience across time through folk music.

Her 2018 album 'Silver Pin', recorded with cellist and composer Oliver Coates, was Mainly Norfolk's album of the year and through her work as a musician in theatre Sophie has toured internationally, played on the West End and at the Globe. She hosts the monthly radio show 'Queer Folk' for Voices Radio and in 2020, Sophie co-founded Queer Folk, an organisation that promotes and researches LGBTQIA+ history in traditional music.
