We?re delighted to welcome The Out and Out Blues Band to play for us at out April show. The Out and Outs are exactly as advertised ? they explore the Blues from Muddy Waters, Howlin? Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson, through BB King, Bobby Bland and Taj Mahal, to Rory Gallagher ? interspersed with their own original contemporary blues compositions. Hammond Organ & Leslie, Harmonica, Guitar, Bass and Drums ? all handled with over 150 years of combined musical experience and led by James Mackie who played keyboards for the Selecter and Madness in the 1980?s amongst others. Heartfelt and sometimes fierce, the Out & Outs live to play. Full-blooded blues and boogie at its best.
The Violet Hours formed in April 2023 when former journalist Helen May approached lead guitarist Chris Preston, offering to get together for a jam. After discovering a shared passion for blues, country rock and Americana music, they quickly formed a band. One of their first gigs was Orkney Blues Festival, they then hit Colne Blues (Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival) and were soon playing regularly on the circuit. 2026 marks their 4th year of performing and their first releases of original music on all streaming platforms. Chris and Helen later expanded their musical partnership into a romantic pairing.
Tickets £15 in advance or £18 cash/contactless on the door (subject to availability)
