A night of raging, red-blooded Latino brilliance and racing libidos at Jamboree to mark St. Valentines night, fuelled by the sultry Peruvian chicha, cumbia, salsa and merangue of Imperio Bamba and the Venezuelan va-va-voom of Luzmira Zerpa!
Born from migrational nostalgia in North London, headliners Imperio Bamba create a ritual for liberating the body from the sense of distance, pushing for togetherness. At the band's heart are its leading duo Jules Drade (Perú) and Javiera Limarí (Chile), collaborating with Titi Damasso and Mariel Cámara (Argentina). REBEL CHICHA is their original take on the exciting and traditional Peruvian chicha, infused with psychedelic rock guitars, synths and the hypnotic rhythms of cumbia, salsa and merengue.
In support, Luzmira Zerpa is a prolific Venezuelan singer, songwriter, healer and guardian of ancient song traditions whose performances weave Venezuelan and Latin folk traditions with African rhythms, Afrobeat and more! Luzmira has performed internationally as a solo artist and toured extensively throughout Europe with her band Family Atlantica (Soundway Records), including shows at the Royal Albert Hall, Glastonbury, Womad and the World Music Festival in Udaipur, India.
