Sam Davey is a prize-winning author of fantasy and speculative fiction ? both short stories and novels. Her short stories have appeared in a number of anthologies, including ?Breaking Through the Penumbra?, (Cicada Song Press, Nov 2025). Her novel ?The Chosen Queen? (Diversion Books/Simon &Schuster, 2025) is the first in a series of novels retelling the legends of Camelot from a feminist perspective.
Until recently, Sam worked at London?s Royal Opera House, but now devotes her time to writing and the literary world. Sam lives by the sea in East Sussex; is the founder of the Hastings Book Festival and an active member of the Hastings Writers Group.
Her new book ? ?The Sisters and the Sword? will be published in June 2026.
