Following a sold-out show last July, velvet-voiced jazz siren Noelle Vaughn returns to the stage at Green Note with a simmering after-dark set of smoky torch songs and red-hot standards. With a voice “so silky you’d swear there was a record player in the room,” Noelle channels the allure of old Hollywood, the smooth sounds of Julie London, Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day and Peggy Lee, fused with the soul of Amy Winehouse, the smoulder of Jane Russell and the trills of Marilyn Monroe - all delivered with a spark that’s unmistakably her own. A regular at Ronnie Scott’s, BBC Radio London and the Edinburgh Fringe, she has toured the UK and Europe with Britain’s Got Talent finalists The Jive Aces and is fast becoming one of the UK’s most magnetic retro-inspired performers. Joined by internationally renowned guitarist Jim Knowler and jazz virtuoso Mao Yamada on double bass, Noelle promises an unforgettable night of vintage glamour, style, sass, and jazz the way it used to be sung.
Green Note was founded by two friends and passionate music lovers who wanted to create their ideal place to hang out in London...
Our dream was to create a place where we could share music that we loved – somewhere with a laid back, intimate and friendly atmosphere. Becoming friends in our school days, the seed for our idea was planted many years ago. After lots of hard work, many ups and downs, and learning more than we ever could have imagined along the way, our dream became a reality when Green Note opened its doors in the Summer of 2005. Now in our fourteenth year, we have established a reputation as one of London’s best spots for roots, world and acoustic music, and we’re constantly astonished by the wealth of incredible musicians who grace our stage. We’re really proud of what we have created, and happy to be able to share it with you.
