The Burbage Band (Buxton) is one of the oldest brass bands in the world, and proudly maintains its original aims and objectives. We were formed as a village band, with the patronage of the Church and Duke of Devonshire, to teach music without charge, provide an educational and constructive pastime, develop community spirit and entertain. The band has earned an enviable repuation and has taught many hundreds to play.
Amington Band have been in existence for nearly 100 years, rehearsing every week, entertaining the people of Tamworth and taking part in contests. As a band we take pride in this, and we're committed to keep the legacy going, the entertainment flowing and brass players blowing.
It is thought that the Clifton and Lightcliffe Band was formed in 1838 when most of the inhabitants of the villages around were employed in either agriculture or coal mining, the formation of the band was a way to escape from the hard work and poor conditions at that time.

Life Of Riley Ceilidhs are strictly for fun and those that don't want to take it all too seriously! No previous experience is needed as the caller will guide you through the dances, none of which are too complicated. Songs and tunes are performed between dances to allow everyone to get their breath back.
