This large residential hotel, originally built in 1840 to serve the adjacent railway and formerly linked to the station platform via a footbridge, was badly damaged by fire in 1997, but has been recently restored to its sumptuous glory.

Outside it has a stone facade, whilst the interior boasts moulded ceilings and oak panelled walls. There's a wide range of whiskies and wines available, as well as lunchtime snacks and a carvery restaurant for evening diners.
