500 capacity theatre & cinema in the heart of Consett. Showing a range of live entertainment from music to comedy, and drama to ballet, alongside all the latest film blockbusters.

The Empire offers access for people with a disability. The ground floor is ramped in the relevant places. We have 6 dedicated spaces for wheelchair users and their carers within the auditorium. A disabled toilet is situated in the foyer area of the venue on the ground floor.

A hearing loop is also available in the main auditorium for patrons who have a hearing aid. Disabled parking is available at the front of the building for 3 vehicles.

Please be aware that unfortunately we are unable to allow pushchairs into the auditorium and there is no available storage space for these within the Empire.
