About 42nd Street
Venue Type: Nightclub
We're a friendly nightclub for friendly people. We play alternative music with a nod to Manchesters past and an ear in the future.
We don't like the charts, chavs or scallies. We would like to meet people that love music and good times.
The club was opened in 1963 by Manchester legend George Best and called "Slack Alices" for George to drink in.
A few years and many name changes later we have 42's.
We provide an alternative to the mainstream, for a short while we might have been the mainstream, but now we're going back to our roots with great music you won't hear anywhere else, and a relaxed atmosphere.
George approved, he told us.
