Tynemouth and District Social Club

Tynemouth Social Club stands as a steadfast institution on Front Street, a co-operatively owned establishment that has long served as a vital gathering point for the local populace. It functions not merely as a place of refreshment, but as a consistent anchor for community life and a venue capable of hosting a diverse array of public and private events.

Inside, the air carries the faint, comforting scent of polished wood and well-used upholstery, a testament to decades of convivial conversation and shared moments. The lighting is often subdued, casting a warm glow over the snooker tables and dartboards, inviting patrons to settle in and enjoy the unpretentious atmosphere. It is a space designed for genuine interaction, free from ostentation.

The club offers a well-stocked bar, known for its carefully maintained real ale selection, which rotates to offer variety to discerning palates. Practical considerations include wheelchair accessibility, ensuring the club remains open to all members of the community. Recent plans have also been approved for a revamped outdoor area, promising an enhanced experience for those who prefer to enjoy their drinks al fresco.

Throughout the year, the club's concert rooms and lounge areas host a varied programme, from live music performances and sporting event screenings to private functions and community gatherings. These events, while diverse in nature, consistently reinforce the club's role as a dynamic centre for entertainment and social engagement within Tynemouth.
