Reading University Student Union

Reading Students' Union, situated within the expansive and verdant Whiteknights Campus, stands as a significant cultural and social asset for both the university community and the wider Reading area. As an independent, student-led charity, it serves a population of over 19,000 students, while also operating as a substantial events hub, notably housing the largest nightclub in Reading. Its presence contributes to the campus's status as an award-winning green space, accessible and enjoyed by local residents.

Within its walls, a dynamic atmosphere prevails across multiple distinct spaces, from the expansive 3SIXTY venue to the more intimate Mojos and Flex (formerly Mondial) bars. The air often carries the low hum of conversation and the scent of fresh coffee from its various cafes, while the vibrant lighting schemes in its larger rooms shift to match the energy of diverse gatherings. It functions as a central point for socialising, dining, and focused study.

Practical considerations are well-addressed, with ample on-site parking available for up to 2,000 vehicles, facilitating ease of access for attendees. A range of culinary options, from bagels and bubble tea to international foods, are available alongside multiple bars. The venue also benefits from outdoor study areas, a patio, and access to the campus meadow, offering flexible spaces for events and relaxation.

Throughout the academic year and beyond, the Union hosts a varied programme of activities. These encompass large-scale conferences, live music performances, comedy nights, and regular club events. It also provides essential infrastructure for over 150 student societies and sports clubs, fostering a rich environment for personal development and community engagement through quizzes, cultural showcases, and themed parties.
