The Postcard Inn has become the premier small music venue in town, hosting a wide range of music from rock, pop, folk, acoustic to being the “official pub of the towns annual brass band competition. Now home to the best acoustic music night in town, the monthly Hades Edge Edgy Session event, open mic nights and our newly restarted folk club in our cellar bar, if you want to see great entertainment then this is the place to be.

Just over a year ago, the cellar bar was relaunched for events and special nights as Winky’s Bar, named after the star of over 40 silent movies made by the local early 20th century film company Bamforth (also famous for the cheeky postcards). In this contemporary venue the walls are decorated to show the history of the company as well as celebrate the classic stars and films of the silent period. The original name for the both bars originated from the Bamforth legacy, with Stamps titling the downstairs venue since 1974, which is why we are now bringing the name back, the Postcard is now the home of Stamps Venue again.

The venue is designed to be used for up to 80 people in an informal setting with layout options for meetings, sit down meals or music nights, in fact come to us with an occasion and we can cater for it. With a private outside area, recently upgraded with new furniture and decorative lighting and the rarity of some off street parking (conveniently located next to the Co-op car park, the biggest in town), not only can you have your meeting in a great environment, but you have everything you need as a venue in one place, whilst being close to the town centre of the world famous Holmfirth.

Once you are settled in at Stamps and enjoying your event, we can offer a range of refreshments, from your favourite beer brands, to good wine, great real ale, a wide range of spirits or an extensive range of bottle. During the day we can offer fresh made coffee, tea, snacks and refreshments to suit your needs. At any event we host we can provide a wide range of with catering options including buffet meals, both hot and cold to your tastes, simply ask our event managers and we will do our best to cater for all your needs. Hiring a venue need not be expensive, and we offer a great price for a great location. The room hire may even be free with certain catering packages.

But after that party, why drive home or travel to a hotel, when you can stay at one of newly refurbished rooms upstairs. Our three guest bedrooms (available Late Oct 2014) are well appointed, all of which have been recently decorated and furnished to a high standard, with an option of breakfast in the morning from the same team who delivered the great food the night before. If you are in town on business then why not stay at the Postcard during the week and enjoy our comfortable rooms and a couple of pints at “Holmfirths Local Pub” where you’ll always be made welcome with the same great drinks selection of your favourite beer brands, to good wine, great real ale, a extensive range of spirits and wide range of bottles.

Being the home of live sport and pub sport in Holmfirth, we can offer 3 large HDTV’s so can show a number of events from Sky Sports, BT Sports and terrestrial channels at the same time. So for great Football, Rugby, F1 and other sports all year round, the Postcard is the place to be.
