Highbury Orchard

Highbury Orchard stands as a vital community asset within Birmingham's historic Highbury Park, cultivating a living space where nature, heritage, and collective endeavour converge. This urban permaculture orchard, a not-for-profit community interest company, serves as a focal point for local engagement, fostering environmental stewardship and social connection amidst the storied grounds of the former Chamberlain estate.

The atmosphere here is one of quiet industry and natural abundance. Sunlight filters through the canopy of heritage fruit trees, illuminating the vibrant undergrowth of herbs and soft fruits, while the gentle hum of bees provides a constant, soothing backdrop. Spanning an acre, the orchard is meticulously cultivated as a forest garden, boasting a rich diversity of apple, pear, plum, and quince varieties, alongside an array of perennial herbs.
