The Met Lounge

The Met Lounge stands as a steadfast cultural fixture on Bridge Street, a vital artery in Peterborough's live music landscape. Since 1999, it has cultivated a reputation as the city's premier alternative venue, providing a crucial platform for both emerging local talent and established touring acts, enriching the regional arts scene far beyond a mere commercial enterprise.

Inside, the air often carries the faint, lingering scent of spilled beer and shared anticipation, a testament to countless nights of live performance. The lighting is typically low and atmospheric, casting a warm, lived-in glow across the space, inviting a sense of camaraderie among patrons drawn to its authentic, unpretentious character.

The venue offers a well-stocked bar, ensuring refreshments are readily available throughout events. While its central location near bus stops and the train station makes it easily accessible by public transport, it is important to note that the venue does not offer specific accessibility provisions.

Throughout the week, The Met Lounge hosts a diverse programme, from energetic club nights spanning rock, indie, punk, and metal genres, to dedicated open mic evenings fostering new voices. Regular live gigs showcase a broad spectrum of musical styles, cementing its role as a dynamic hub for Peterborough's music enthusiasts.
