Regal Theatre

The Regal Cinema & Theatre, Redruth, stands as a significant cultural anchor in West Cornwall, its Art Deco facade a familiar landmark on Fore Street since 1935. More than a local picture house, it functions as a vital regional hub, consistently delivering a diverse programme of events that enrich the community and attract audiences from across the county.

Inside, the venue offers a considered atmosphere where the echoes of its cinematic past blend with contemporary comfort. The main auditorium, capable of transforming from a large-screen cinema to a live performance space, features seating that ranges from traditional stalls to more intimate luxury screens with plush sofas and tables, inviting a relaxed engagement with the unfolding spectacle.

Practical considerations are well-addressed, with an integrated bar and restaurant providing refreshments, including alcoholic beverages that can be enjoyed within the auditoriums. Accessibility is a key focus, with purpose-built wheelchair bays in the stalls and a lift ensuring ease of movement to certain areas, though some screens are accessed via stairs.

Throughout the year, the Regal hosts a broad spectrum of entertainment. Beyond mainstream film releases, the programme regularly features live music, comedic performances, theatrical productions, and special event cinema broadcasts from national institutions, ensuring a varied cultural calendar for all tastes.
