Glasgow School of Art

The Art School, operating as the public face of the Glasgow School of Art Students' Association, stands as a vital cultural asset within the city, a non-profit entity dedicated to advancing education and the arts. It serves as a dynamic hub, channelling commercial proceeds back into student-initiated projects, exhibitions, and a diverse programming fund for emerging and established artists.

Within its Scott Street walls, the venue cultivates an atmosphere of creative energy, where the murmur of conversation in The Vic Café Bar blends with the distant thrum of a soundcheck from the Assembly Hall. The recently refurbished spaces offer a tactile sense of contemporary design, while the overhead bulb lighting casts a warm, inviting glow across the various communal areas.

Spread across multiple floors, the building ensures accessibility with a central lift serving all public areas, from the basement facilities to the upper project spaces. The Vic Café Bar provides a welcoming spot for sustenance, offering a range of food and drinks throughout the day, catering to both students and the wider public.

Throughout the year, The Art School hosts a broad spectrum of events, from live music performances and club nights featuring international and local talent, to art exhibitions, workshops, and lectures. These activities collectively foster an environment where artistic expression is nurtured and celebrated across various disciplines.
