The Hand & Spear was built in 1830 by Lord King, Baron of Ockham. He called it the “Hand and Spear” from his family crest which shows a hand grasping a spear!

The Hand and Spear welcomes everybody for all occasions whether you’re in for the weekly quiz or part of the bustling after work crowd. Chill out in the library, relax on the decking in our secret garden, meet friends in the parlour or just hang out at the bar.

Open all day every day offering everything from a pint of real ale to craft cocktails, a relaxing brunch to a three course dinner.
