About Bristol Easton Salvation Army Band
The band has 18 members, a number of whom grew up in the corps at Easton and have learned to play in the Young People's Band. Indeed, just as the corps at Easton has a real family feel to it, so does the band. Currently there are two fathers who have sons / daughters playing alongside them, and eight members of the band are related.
The Band's members are drawn from all walks of life. Some are involved in the financials services sector and local government; some run their own businesses, while others are teachers, lorry drivers, care workers, sales representatives and students. Virtually all have spent most of their lives involved in Salvation Army music making.
The opportunities which we have to express God's love has always motivated us to play music in a way which shows the joy experienced in God's service, and to communicate that joy to others. Such a commitment of all Salvation Army bandsmen and women has derived from this strongly held belief: that only the best is good enough for the highest.
