The Two Rivers Swing Band is led by the talented trumpeter and jazz arranger, Trevor Vincent. The full band has around 30 players. It accommodates a range of abilities and ages.
We rehearse in Baildon and perform mainly in the Ilkley and North Bradford area, occasionally further afield.
Our biggest gigs are our regular dances – we aim to hold 2 each year. It’s always such a good feeling to play to a full dance floor.
We play on local bandstands, at Festivals and at a number of charity events. We have also given performances at private functions such as weddings, special birthdays and other celebrations. We have started up a small jazz ensemble which can perform at smaller, more intimate venues.
Our music comprises traditional big band swing era standards including numbers by Glen Miller and Count Basie; Latin favourites; Pop and more modern numbers; and of course some Rock ‘n Roll. Our two vocalists, Ros and Shirley add that extra sparkle.
