About Chinnor Silver Band
Chinnor Silver Band is situated in the village of Chinnor in South Oxfordshire, & has its own band room in the village, where it practices on most Wednesday evenings.
The band has been in existence for about 160 years (established c1850), and plays a wide range of music from traditional brass Band and classical pieces to modern rock and pop.
he band provides entertainment throughout the year at fetes, garden parties, concerts etc, and has also performed on television and in advertisements.
In the past few years we have seen a resurgence in the organisation of the band with the introduction of the training band and learner tutoring. The band comprises a large age range and is steadily progressing musically under the leadership of it’s Musical Director David Pegram.
Chinnor Silver Band is currently in the National Third Section & takes part in contests all around the country.
