Never ones to rush things - Grapefruit Moon are a small collective of musicians that have been playing together for many years in various situations and thought it was about time to let some other people know about it.
Rachel Williams is already long established as an accomplished folk singer (we will add some links to her solo work). She brings her amazing voice and musicianship, including her celtic folk harp that helps to expand the dimensions of the music they play. She also has an inventive cross referencing system of organising her lmusic sheets that involves both numbers and an alphbetical order and can often be heard on stage preparing for songs by calling out numbers in the style of a chinese menu.
Stuart Ellis underpins the sound whether playing his double bass, guitar or adding vocals. he has arrived at this musical junction from his electric bass playing with The Claim (again links to follow) through a love of Neil Young and more recently folk acts like Chris Wood and Kate Rusby. He conceals his true desires of subverting us all towards his dark plan of becoming a Neil Young tribute band, beware!
Steve Panter plays the guitar and sings and heralds from a confused musical background after being a devoted heavy metal fan in his younger days only for his mum to buy him a mod style harrington jacket and then sew all his heavy metal patches on it. After many long car journeys listening to endless country music as a child he has an appreciation of a range of americana music, but sadly no longer has his harrington jacket.
The trio frequently play with other musicians who all help them along their musical journey and are always happy to go where the music takes them.
We don't currently have any future gigs listed for Grapefruit Moon.
