About Christy Coysh

Creative, Writer and Musical Comedian who likes to make engaging, whacky and funny content.

My name is Christy and I love to make stuff.

But whether it’s writing, producing, and directing my own content for social media, or doing advertising work for companies like Huggies, The Big Issue, and 1st Central, I always keep one key truth at the front of my mind. The idea is everything.

And idea generation is what I’m all about. I love to concept new and interesting ways of presenting a key message to an audience and I thrive on finding the most efficient, engaging, and fun creative solutions to complex problems.

My background is in comedy and I moved to London in 2018 to begin a creative career. I spent the next year and a half working in a Brixton coffee shop (the coffee was banging, the career prospects? not so much) before landing my first agency job as a Junior Content Creative at Fist Of Fury.

I was hooked straight away.

I loved the fact that you could get paid to be creative, for the first time in my life I was actually paying my bills with what I was good at and it felt great. Cut to 6 months down the line and the company folded and left me without a job and a CV that lacked, I think it’s called… experience? I knew I had to do something to stand out, to show people that I was more than just a few months of experience on a measly CV. Rather than seeing this turn of events as a disaster, I decided to see it as a creative opportunity. Instead of a stuffy old cover letter (because let’s face it, ‘Dear sir or madam…’ isn’t exactly my tone of voice), I created a music video showcasing everything that made me a stand-out hire. The video went viral on LinkedIn and led to a job offer at Brighton-based agency Rocketmill.

At Rocketmill I learned to hone my craft and take whatever raw talent I had and make it something structured. I became adept at making my ideas work across different platforms and executions. I learned to buff and polish an idea till it was the shiniest little brain nugget it could be. I also became a multi-faceted creative who was able to feel as comfortable generating ideas and copywriting as I was producing and editing.

But now the functional jargon’s out of the way, it really doesn’t get any more complicated than this - I love making stuff.

And to be honest, it’s all I want to do.
