Organiser Michael Eavis described The Fortunate Sons as "a fantastic band, full of energy" after one of their appearances the Glastonbury Festival .
The band was formed between longtime bandmates from school, Sam West (vocals/guitar), Calum McCann (guitar) and Mike Law (drums) . They cut their teeth by working hard and playing gigs almost every night in the vibrant music scene of their hometown of Glasgow, often going back to parties after the gigs and jamming into the early hours of the morning. Fans were quickly enraptured by the band's energetic performances and their reputation began to spread . The Fortunate Sons were rocking.
Their sound is a potent mix of "upbeat cuts of rock’n’roll" and "vital urgency" (The List) that brings to mind the classic sounds of Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty with the cutting edge of Kings of Leon. This prompted Springsteens's E Street Bandmate Steve van Zandt to remark "these guys are f****** great!" when he heard The Fortunate Sons.
Since those early days, the Fortunate Sons have gone from strength to strength and have been gigging and touring constantly around Italy, Germany, Austria, Norway and of course the UK.
The band have been busy writing material for their much anticipated second album and will release some new tracks in the Summer. The new songs have already caused a lot of excitement at their residency gigs in Glasgow's 'Swing' nightclub on Hope St with an assured packed house dancing wildly into the night .
We don't currently have any future gigs listed for Fortunate Sons.
