Sudbury Symphony Orchestra has been making music for over 20 years and goes from strength to strength. Based in the market town of Sudbury in Suffolk we are an enthusiastic amateur orchestra performing music ranging from Haydn and Mozart to Shostakovich and Copland. We have players from Sudbury itself, the nearby villages, Colchester, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and even Newmarket.

For string players, we believe that if you are at least Grade 5 standard then you will find playing in the orchestra challenging but very enjoyable. If you are not quite at Grade 5 standard but are keen to take your playing up a level, then we can help you get the skills and experience you need to really enjoy playing in the orchestra. For wind players we normally ask for a minimum of Grade 6 and some orchestral experience.
