Apartment House has been captivating audiences with performances of contemporary and experimental music for over 25 years. The group, created by cellist Anton Lukoszevieze in 1995, has performed all over the world and are currently an associate ensemble of Wigmore Hall. Apartment House's recordings have focussed on major releases by experimental composers including John Cage, Christian Wolff, George Mačiunas and Laurence Crane, all of which have received widespread acclaim. The group has a long term relationship with UK label Another Timbre, releasing over 30 albums of music by John Cage, Olivier Messiaen, Ryoko Akama, Julius Eastman and Martin Arnold, to name a few. In 2012 they received a Royal Philharmonic Award for their outstanding contribution to chamber music.

Apartment House Artistic Director Anton Lukoszevieze writes: 'This programme of chamber music covers over 100 years of compositional variety. The natural world is always beautiful and artists are always confronted with this fact, and in many ways I think they are constantly facing beauty in their creative lives. This is music that I love and want to impart to the listener. Here is music inspired by Lithuanian symbolist painter and composer Čiurlionis (Ramybė), heartfelt music by Canadian Cassandra Miller, hermetic and jewel-like Haiku by John Cage, lush piano music by French composer Germaine Tailleferre, Mexican folk-inspired music from American composer Peter Garland and ending with joy-full and joyous music by seminal and celebrated African-American composer Julius Eastman'.
