April 2016 in a land far, far away (but not too far, of course). Four men decided to get together and jam. The aim was to play songs that everybody knew and loved and punk them up to 11. Simon Cowell said it would “never work”, Sharon Osbourne said it was “preposterous” and Len Goodman said “seven, maybe - but eleven?! You’re having a laugh mate!”

Undeterred, the plucky foursome named the band "Covered in Punk" and ploughed on with reworking classic songs by the likes of David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Tiffany, Depeche Mode and Tina Turner. The release of the “Punky Dory” EP in December 2016 was a turning point for Covered in Punk and the history of music alike. The critics loved it! “Awesome”, said George Michael, “That hits the spot”, said Carrie Fisher. Even Simon Cowell had a change of heart and gave them a cheeky wink and thumbs up.
