Live Performance
Brass Band
We are a brass band based in Haydock, St. Helens, in the North West of England. Our aim is to become a better band as a whole whilst becoming better players individually.
The band was founded in 1992 when Musical Director, David Chadwick, came to the realisation that there were not enough musical services for young children in the area. This is when Valley Brass Band was born.
Valley Brass Band is situated in the old Richard Evans School building on West End Road, Haydock, our centre includes a games room with TVs, Wii, Pool Table, Xbox, Football Table, Table Tennis and loads more. Our aim is to encourage musical interest and develop talent in all age groups and abilities. Our band is currently ‘split up’ into two sections:
The Main Band – This is the band that attends all the major competitions every year. We also take bookings as well as schedule regular concerts throughout the year.
The Youth/Learner Band – Once you have got the basics of playing an instrument through your tuition, this is where you will go. The Youth band sometimes attends competitions and you will attend a few concerts throughout the year.
The learner band is run by professional musicians and volunteers who try their best to make learning an instrument a fun and enjoyable experience.
We are also seeking a group of adults who would like to learn brass instruments and perform in a brass band.
At Valley Brass we like to provide tuition to all age groups and abilities. We have professional tutors at hand who will help you develop to learn a brass instrument (percussion tuition is also available).
