This Gig is in the past, if you were there leave a review below
It was 1989 and the Punk Rock bus has just hit a tree, leaving a trail of blood and snot all over the Acid washed denim of patricians. A jaded few crawled free from the hecatomb and embarked on an odyssey to bring Rock Punk chaos to the hoi polloi. SWAKTANG were born.
Keeping things chaotic at the helm since day one are SY sings/strings & PAZ bass/rationale. There have been a numerous skin beaters over the years (there departure usually coincides with an extension to SY's patio) joined by Major Mike on the sticks in 2016 the Rock Punk concatenation keeps galloping on.
SWAKTANG'S mission statement has always been to do Our own thing and enjoy ourselves. The size of the venue or the Great Unwashed has always been nihil ad rem. We give the same 110% on stage regardless of the assemblage.
To try and nail down our INFLUENCES to a particular style or genre would be like sequencing the DNA of a dartboard, futile. Influences come from daily life, daily strife and the exultation of being alive.
Walsall Arboretum is a Victorian public park located very close to Walsall town centre in the West Midlands.
It’s hard to believe now, but the land on which Walsall Arboretum stands was once at the southern boundary of the Cannock Forest – a great medieval royal hunting ground.
Swaktang, Devils, sad Sally, release the kitten, leftovers.
Skate punk & ska at the bandstand, lakeside at the arboretum
