Description

Daniel formed BRENIG in 2012 with long time friend Mandy Martin (vocals/mandolin). Mandy hails from Cannock staffs where her family ran a folk club in the 70's. She moved to the Aberystwyth area in the 80's but has still strong roots in the midland folk scene.

The name BRENIG is taken from the river that flowed past Daniels grandparents farm near Tregaron in Mid Wales. He was born on the farm and spent most of his childhood there. Still involved with farming and enjoying living in the countryside, Daniel draws on his own personnel observations and experiences to write his songs.

Modern and traditional folk songs which tell stories of welsh folklore, traditions, history, love and the countryside. Haunting melodies inspired by Celtic, Cajun, blues, folk rock, folk/country, traditional folk, eastern European and Asian music. Entwined with beautifully descriptive heartfelt lyrics that will make you laugh, cry and inspire you. Lovely harmonies, Mandy's beautiful pure clear voice and great musicianship. A selection of covers and tunes can also included in our sets.
