AOB are a 5-piece Essex based covers band with dynamic and seasoned semi-professional musicians. We have a broad based set list ranging from classic rock covers like Queen's Tie Your Mother Down to contemporary favourites such as Sex On Fire by The Kings Of Leon.

We are often asked what AOB stands for? Audience members have come up with a variety of suggestions including Area Of Brilliance, Any Old B******s and ‘Ave Onuvva Beer! The truth is that after a long and unsuccessful band meeting trying to come up with a name, at the end of the agenda was AOB (Any Other Business). You can guess the rest!

The Smuggler's Den is a riverside pub on the banks of the River Crouch in Hullbridge. Originally a barn with wooden beams throughout this was opened as a social club in 1947 and is now run as a pub.

At the Smugglers we take our Ale very seriously, accredited by Cask Marque we are pleased to present two house Ales, the very popular rich golden Doom Bar and the light crisp and citrusy Atlantic, which are supplemented by a third Guest Ale from one of our local Breweries such as Georges Brewery in Wakering, or Hope Brewery from Stamford Le Hope, or Billericay Brewery.

Welcoming the Culinary Talents of head Chef Marc Buckle to the kitchen has unleashed a plethora of Gastronomic Delights upon the patrons of the Smugglers Den, based on the simple premise of good quality ingredients at affordable pricing, and served in a simple comfortable no fuss environment has been an immediate recipe for success whether you are looking for a simple door stop sandwich or a bowl of fresh Mussels Marinara, a sumptuous own recipe Smugglers Burger or our signature Sausages n Mash, or simple Beer Battered Cod n Chips, washed down with one of our award winning Ales we are sure you will leave with a full tummy and a heart to match!
