Grand Central Groove formed early in March 2018 and played our debut gig at the Beer Festival at the awesome real ale and live music venue, The Black Dog Inn in May.
With eight highly experienced musicians, since then, GCG have enjoyed playing a range of venues and occasions - from the launch night of popular Barrow tapas bar and live lounge, Odd Frog, to the likes of stalwart local pubs such as the Hope & Anchor in Ulverston and The Strawberry in Barrow-in-Furness.
Highlights for the band so far on our relatively short journey has to be the #BabyChamBall which we hosted at Abbey House Hotel in August. We were overwhelmed by everyone’s support and were delighted to have been able to raise £518 for the Mayor’s Charities - Women’s Community Matters, Mind in Furness, and St. Mary’s Hospice. A fantastic night!
We were honoured to play for a beautiful wedding at the end of August at Graythwaite Estates and we wish the Creegans every health and happiness in their marriage.
We graced the stage at Odd Frog for the relaunch of local radio station CandoFM which was excellent fun and one of the band’s favourite gigs so far.
We have a number of functions booked in for 2019 including charity fundraisers, weddings, and the Christmas parties at Abbey House Hotel including NYE! We can’t wait to tell you all about our next chapter...
